Valentin Foucault

Software Engineer & Entrepreneur

About Me

Welcome to my website!

I am a software engineer with quite a diverse experience, having worked on 15+ projects either as an employee, freelance, or founder of my own business.

👉 The variety of my experiences as being a founder and a software engineer at the same time enable me to work on both the “coding” and the “product management” aspects of the project. It can either be at the beginning to lay out good foundations, during the development phase to strengthen your current team, or after launch to add improvements.

💬 Communicating regularly in a clear and concise manner is for me essential to guarantee the good progression of a project. The diversity of projects and teams with which I have already worked will enable me to easily adapt to your processes and quickly integrate your team in order to lose as little time as possible at the start of the project.

💻 In terms of technical skills, my expertise is mainly focused on the JavaScript ecosystem with React Native (for iOS / Android development), React.js (for Web development), and Node.js (for Back-End development). I have also published a variety of native Android apps on the Google Play Store by using the Android SDK with Java, have once developed native apps for the macOS / iOS platforms with Swift, and had the opportunity to apply some Machine Learning / Deep Learning (Artificial Intelligence) techniques on a few school projects by using Python and TensorFlow / Keras / Scikit-learn. Complementary to that, I am familiar with the Amazon Web Services / Google Cloud platforms and the MongoDB / Firebase / SQLite / Realm databases.

🎓 Regarding my education, I have graduated from École Polytechnique engineering school and HEC Paris business school with a master’s degree in entrepreneurship (X-HEC Entrepreneurs program). Prior to that, I studied three years in England and Australia to receive a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science.

✈️ Besides my passion for IT and entrepreneurship is my love for aviation, travel, and adventure. I have taken a Private Pilot License (PPL) course back when I was still in high school, and love exploring new destinations whenever possible.

I look forward to working with you!

“Valentin quickly understood the stakes of the mission. Despite tight timing, he went into the code and adapted himself to the existing architecture. One of his strengths is testing. After realizing a feature, he ensures that it works well in all possible use cases, ensuring an optimal level of quality. I recommend Valentin and would not hesitate to call him again.”
